Chinese Blue & White Bitong
A beautiful Chinese bitong, with a hand-painted blue design that reflects its use as a pot for calligraphy brushes or perhaps for part finished scrolls, as it is a deep example. The pot is in fabulous condition and the rim is free of even the smallest fleabite.
No marks on the base, but 19th or earlier, the stepped base form sometimes being associated with Kangxi porcelain.
It measures 18.5 cms tall and approx 13cms outside diameter.
