Chelsea Porcelain Red Anchor Period Dessert Plate
A pretty Chelsea dessert plate with shaped edge with red-brown rim and painted in bright enamels with bold floral sprays. Red anchor mark, c.1753-1758.
It measures 22cm (8 5/8") wide and 3cm (1 1/8") high.
In good condition, there have been two very small rim chips that have been filled and over painted with leaves which have faded a bit. Some surface wear in places and rubbing to the enamel on the rim. A small foot rim chip and the foot rim is ground. A couple of craze lines on the reverse from firing and as Chelsea often charmingly did to disguise firing faults, a leaf has been painted over the top. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
