Chamberlain Worcester Armorial Coffee Can c.1815
A Georgian bucket shape coffee can by Chamberlain's with ring handle and painted with a burnt orange enamel ground reserving white lotus type flowers on a gilt flowering vine. Geometric gilt borders around the rim and foot. Inside the base is a painted armorial. Unmarked, c.1815.
It measures 7cm (2 3/4") high, 7cm (2 3/4") rim to rim and 9.5cm (3 3/4") rim to handle.
Good overall condition: there is a bruise to the inside of the rim with a small glaze loss. The whole fault sits over a concentrated area of kiln dust and I'm confident it is a firing defect. Further kiln dust spotting to the edge of the inside of the base. Some light handling wear overall more so to the gilt inside the rim and to the edges of the geometric bands. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque. If you prefer to pay by Stripe please go to our website where we offer that option and additionally options to "Pay in 30 days" and to pay in 3 instalments, all securely supported.
Price includes UK shipping. Worldwide shipping is also available, please ask for a cost.
We wish to ensure all our customers are happy with their purchases and offer a full no quibble return policy for all items returned within 14 days. We ask that returns are notified within 7 days where possible. Return postage is the buyer's responsibility in terms of cost and safeguarding the item through transit.
