Art Nouveau Vase by E. Violet Hayward for Doulton
Here we have a beautiful and eye-catching Art Nouveau Specimen Vase from Royal Doulton. The vase has a round foot, an egg-shaped body and a slender neck with a fluted rim. The body has three hand decorated Art Nouveau style thistles on a mottled blue and brown ground.
The vase is by E. Violet Hayward, one of the many talented artists who worked at Doulton's Lambeth factory in London. It dates to around 1905 - 1915. Hayward was at Doulton from around 1897 up until 1942 and acted as a Senior Assistant to Eliza Simmance as well as creating pieces in her own right.
Condition is extremely good with no chips or cracks. This really does look as good today as the day it left the Doulton factory. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The vase stands 19cm / 7.5ins high and is 6.5cm / 2.5ins in diameter at its widest part. It weighs 304.1g / 10.7oz.
The underside of the base has the Royal Doulton lion and crown mark, awarded by Edward VII in 1902, along with the hd makers' mark for E. Violet Hayward and the product number 2372. Brought together these marks give us a date range of between around 1905 and 1915.
Shipping in the UK is £6.50 by Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For Parcel Post.
