This is a very pretty floral 'pique a jour' bowl which dates from the early 20th century. The technique for making plique a jour is is similar to cloisonne but in this case there is no backing material, so you can see through the enamelling. This is a bowl of quite decent proportions with a diameter of 21 cms and standing 16 cms high. It comes complete with its pierced hardwood stand and is in perfect condition.
