A Good, Early Winchcombe Pottery Baking Dish.

Press-moulded from the local red clay and modelled with a crimped or pie-crust rim. The interior decorated with a lovely design of loosely trailed honey-coloured slip, over a dark glaze ground.

This piece dates to around 1935 and is attributable to Michael Cardew, who worked at the pottery at that time. The underside is impressed with an old Winchcombe Pottery seal mark only. In good condition and displaying well.

23.5 wide x 19.5 deep x 6cms high.

A good, decorative piece and a worthwhile addition to any Winchcombe Pottery or English slipware collection.
