An early 19thc. New Hall cabinet cup. Pattern 1413
A truly stunning cup, in astonishing condition. Beautifully hand painted with a wide, pale blue band between a pair of underglaze blue overgilded bands. Large pink peonies and green leaves on thick white stems.
Condition
In wonderful condition. No apparent repairs, restoration or damage. No apparent wear to the elaborate gilding.

An iconic figure in Scottish dance, Edinburgh-based William Mowat-Thomson was a teacher of dance, drama and yoga and a collector of the most wonderful array of art and antiques. From modest beginnings on Orkney, William achieved success in his working life and from a young age furnished his grand homes in his much-loved Georgian style.
