A spectacular Norwegian snuff flask
A spectacular Norwegian snuff flask of highly figured burr birch wood and white metal mounts. The flask's body is formed from a turned disc of birch hollowed out from the base. The metal mounts are decorated with chased foliage designs with the foot also serving as a seal bearing the initials 'WHS' ? Norway, mid 18th century or earlier.
