A fine pair of oak candlesticks with a lovely colour and silky smooth surface. Patina gained over 250 or so years, as the wood seasoned it gained the odd crack due to shrinkage. The clothes of age and respectability. One stick lost a small part of its base many, many years ago, so long ago that the cavity has acquired the same aged finish that they have all over. But still in full working order even now and very impressive on the table.
