A good early convex dial fusee wall antique clock. An 12" domed painted dial with the original ground and fine blued steel hands. Signed 'G & W YOUNGE, STRAND LONDON. A cast brass bezel surround. A mahogany case of good colour and the original patination. An 8-day duration timepiece fusee mechanism with shaped plates and original steel and brass pendulum. The original heart shaped winding key. The Thwaites fusee mechanism is numbered 9604 and by the Rose numbering system dates it to 1836.

Younge of The Strand, London are noted makers and illustrated in the Rose 'English Dial Clocks' book.
