An extremely fine quality French Commode or Chest of Drawers. Made from Kingwood with 3 smoothly running drawers fitted with original handles. The ormolu mounts that adorn the piece are very fine quality and crisp. The top, front and sides are parquetry panels, the top has a brass edge and perhaps the best feature is the amazing shape, the front is swept in a serpentine form and the sides also. The drawers are made from solid oak with very good dovetails. This Chest is of the finest quality from the period and comes in excellent condition for the home.
