This vintage powder compact is suitable for use with modern loose face powder or as a handbag mirror.

A high quality 1950s Stratton "Marquis" in superb condition. A luxurious "JEWELLER HAND ENGINE TURNED FINISH" with the original black felt pouch, mirror sticker & sifter. The "Marquis" is not common. The only known years of availability were 1956 & 1957. The lid shows a very gorgeous design of a central circular cartouche & radians which form an ornate & perfect design. The lid lifts to reveal an excellent mirror. The inner lid decorated with the "Compact-in-Hand" logo & signed Stratton. This self-opening lid works perfectly. The whole compact epitomizes the hey day of Stratton accessories.

This Stratton "Marquis" powder compact measures 3 1/4" & weighs 125.8 grams.
