A delightful Kigu musical powder box in superb condition. This 1950s 'Concerto' has the most beautiful guilloche engraved lid. Above the thumb catch a cartouche in the shape of scroll is adorned with a harebell. The whole item gleams and the manufacturing processes were so exacting this vanity will never tarnish or need to be cleaned. The inner lid is signed 'Kigu' and the enchanting gilt interior has a cartouche inscribed 'Concerto'. The music box plays very well indeed. The original pouch, known as a Dorothy bag, is included as are the unused signed puff and sifter. The mirror gives a clear and accurate reflection. The base is signed 'KIGU MADE IN ENGLAND' and decorated with a bold spiral. Measures 3 1/4" and weighs 120.7 grams.
