Victorian Pair of Electrostatic Discharge Tongs
For sale, a nineteenth century pair of electrostatic discharge tongs.
Comprised of a glass handle with brass shaft and hinged tongs with discharge spheres at each end, these interesting and quality examples would have been used in conjunction with a Ramsden, Nairne or Wimshurst type electrostatic generating machine as a hand held method of discharging the spark created during use.
Rare to find these early examples and of such quality.
