Victorian Oak Gentleman's Desk
A truly magnificent piece of classic late Victorian office antique furniture.
This beautiful and superb quality desk was produced by one of Britain's best cabinet makers 'JA Shoolbred & Co'. This superbly fitted pollard oak gentleman's writing desk features numerous drawers all fitted with its original handles and locks. It has an elegant carved rail to the back, a lift up stationary compartment, original ink wells and perfectly angled writing slope. We have clearly shown in the photographs provided that this writing slope is perfect for a laptop (which is not included in this listing). The slope conveniently lifts up to reveal a magnificent fitted interior with satinwood and mahogany drawers. This compartment will provide a safe section for your laptop and cables.
The desk does break down into three individual sections with both pedestals standing on their original brass castors. Once again, this desk is in excellent condition for its age. Sadly, we do not possess the key, but when compared to a modern office desk, there is no comparison.
