Tunbridge Ware Octagonal Wooden Bowl With Stag
Antique Beautiful Quality Victorian Tunbridge Ware Rare Bowl. 1850's
This is a stunning antique bowl of good proportions in stunning Rosewood and mixed woods. This bowl is extremely rare and hard to find.
The octagonal bowl is typical Tunbridge Ware with a mosaic effect tesserae.
A stunning array of flowers and geometric forms with bands of stunning flowers and various very fine detail. In the middle of the bowl is a spectacular Stag.
The main body is solid Rosewood.
Swivel shaped lifting handle.
Excellent polish and no loses to Tunbridge Ware that I can notice. Edge joints are as they should be and are held together with wood cut joints, making it very strong. Overall superb well-maintained condition.
This bowl is attributed to the world-famous Henry Hollamby/Thomas Barton made in their workshops in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.UK.
Dimensions are:
Width 22cms. (8 5/8")
Bowl Height 4 cms. (1 1/2")
Height to top handle 14 cms. (5 1/2")
