Triple Fusee 8 bells Marquetry Bracket Clock
This is a superb quality inlaid marquetry & walnut bracket antique clock with a beautiful Edwardian style case and quality monumental triple chain fusee 8 bells 5 gongs
The movement dates to Circa - 1900.
Edwardian Mahogany Triple Fusee Marquetry Bracket Clock Glading & Co, Brighton. Three subsidiary dials chime/silent, slow/fast and Westminster chimes on 8 bells. Fantastic detail in the marquetry, showing a floral inlay and scroll work. Includes intricate fret work side panels and detailed pediment.
The Clock has a superb Swan Neck pediment design top which has a beautiful patina to it, in the arch at the front it has superb scrolled marquetry designs all in very good condition
The case has a glazed hinged front door protecting the brass dial, around the boarder of the door their is matching marquetry all present and in excellent condition
To each side of the case it has brass fretwork panels with silk material behind
The case is of top quality and very fine marquetry detail with one of the best walnut patinas which is acquired through age
The clock is in fine condition for age with no damage to any inlays, the clock has no sign of any woodworm past or present
The whole clock has fantastic proportions measuring
Size 14" (approx 35 cm) wide x 24" (approx 61 cm high).
A truly beautiful antique clock, with crisp Westminster chimes (8 bells).
