A superb example of Thonet’s iconic bentwood craftsmanship, this refined hat and coat stand showcases eight gracefully curved “S”-shaped hooks forming a sculptural crown. The central column is composed of four vertical sections, rising to a delicately turned finial. Below, a circular support ring accommodates umbrellas and walking sticks, while four twin-curved legs provide elegant stability. Retaining its original finish, the stand displays a rich, warm tone and a beautifully mellow patina—testament to decades of gentle use and care. Both practical and decorative, it offers timeless charm to any hallway, vestibule, or office.

Founded in the early 19th century by German cabinetmaker Michael Thonet, the company pioneered steam-bent wood techniques that revolutionised antique furniture design and production.
