Superb Whitehurst Hook And Spike Clock

Superb 8day 6" dial hook and spike antique clock by John Whitehurs of Derby.
Its well documented that clock makers sold their movements etc to other makers.
So its no coincidence that we find this clock made by he famous Derby maker John Whitehurst and retailed to Edward Bell of Uttoxeter.
We know this to be true by the antique clocks construction and serial number which is stamped onto the back of the movement.Which suggests it was made in 1850.
It originally started its life as an 8day hook and Spike clock and still remains as this today.
The serial number on the back matches in clock books as being a Hook and Spike Clock by John Whitehurst Of Derby.
