A truly wonderful French Ladies Desk or Bonheur de Jour, highly decorative and the finest quality. Edwardian in date and made from cuban mahogany with solid Brass inset fluted strips and Brass inlays. A rouge marble top. The cylinder locks (key present) and opens to reveal a writing surface which slides forward and fitted with a new sumptuous black leather, also 3 drawers. There are 3 further drawers to the top and a long drawer underneath which also locks on the same key. She sits on lovely little Brass cap feet.
This piece really is the finest craftsmanship from the era using the finest materials, this can be seen from the dovetails to the drawers.
As well as a small desk it would also be a highly decorative talking point to any room.
In superb overall condition having been fully re finished by ourselves to a very high standard.
