Constructed in well-figured oak with a warm, even patina, the desk features a gently serpentine front and a tripartite leather writing surface with panelled insets, all in a consistent, time-softened tone. The arrangement comprises a central long drawer above the kneehole, flanked by two pedestals, each fitted with three graduated drawers. The drawers retain their original solid brass ring handles on circular backplates, with individual locks.
Raised on turned legs united by shaped stretcher bases, the desk is finished to the reverse with panelled construction, allowing it to stand freely within a room. The drawer interiors are clean and well-proportioned, offering ample storage, while the overall design reflects the restrained proportions and solid craftsmanship associated with Edwardian office furniture.
