A really wonderful quality oil on canvas portrait of a lady. The painting shows the sitter a lady of strong features and demeanor, looking out into the distance dressed quite stylishly in fur trimmed jacket with pink chiffon scarf and wearing a long string of pearls. The painting is signed to the lower right, sadly it appears illegible and the artist remains a mystery but it is obviously of a professional level quality and has some ressemblance to Slade school works of the period and is on an English canvas. The painting is mounted in a detailed but simple Edwardian period gilt frame and slip. The whole is in excellent conditon. C.1920.
