A French brass cased striking and repeating carriage antique clock by SJ Rety. An enamel dial with blued steel 'moon' hands. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours and 1/2 hours on a gong. Push button repeating. A lever escapement. Numbered 980 and signed by maker to the back plate. Circa 1885.
