Staffordshire Pearlware Figure Of Diana c.1820
A nice large Staffordshire pearlware figure of Diana the huntress, c.1820, decorated in earthy coloured enamels in ochre, red, orange, grey and black. She is stood on a rocky mound set on a square socle base with red enamel band. Impressed W mark to the base.
She measures 29.2cm (11 1/2") high and 11cm (4 3/8") wide across the base.
Condition is very good: her little crown has been reattached and professionally touched in and there is a small loss at the tip of one side. A small mark to the back of her left hand which looks like blown glaze during firing. I have checked the bow carefully and it is fine. There is one corner of the base with restoration spray but I can't tell what has happened, probably just filling a chip. Some slight fritting to the glaze at the edge of her cloak and minor enamel losses, mainly to the black and base / trunk. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque. If you prefer to pay by Stripe please go to our website where we offer that option and additionally options to "Pay in 30 days" and to pay in 3 instalments, all securely supported.
Price includes UK shipping. Worldwide shipping is also available, please ask for a cost.
We wish to ensure all our customers are happy with their purchases and offer a full no quibble return policy for all items returned within 14 days. We ask that returns are notified within 7 days where possible. Return postage is the buyer's responsibility in terms of cost and safeguarding the item through transit.
