Staffordshire Pearlware Child's Black Printed Mug
Sweet early 19th century child's pearlware mug with black printed decoration of a farmer ploughing a field on one side, a boy and his 2 siblings climbing over a gate and in the centre a small poem from Franklin's Maxims "plough deep while sluggards sleep and you shall have corn to sell and to keep". c.1830.
It measures 6.5cm (2 1/2") high, 6.3cm (2 5/8") rim to rim and 9cm (3 1/2") rim to handle. Condition is fair with a hairline running part way down the front under the poem and a small scuff to the rim just to the left of it. Not other damage or repairs and surface wear is light. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque. If you prefer to pay by Stripe please go to our website where we offer that option and additionally options to "Pay in 30 days" and to pay in 3 instalments, all securely supported.
