An early 19th C Staffordshire pottery spill vase
An early 19th century Staffordshire pottery spill vase of a young woman seated beneath a tree with two companion dogs lying beside her. This model is usually the girl, the dog at her feet and a sheep above, however the colouring of the sheep has left this version more representative of 2 dogs. It is most likely dating to around 1840. Albeit a naive figure group it has charm , the painting is bright and lively, and in good order lifting the example a bit above the norm.
Apart from its obvious age, there is nothing to report in terms of damage or repairs.
