Solid oak Flemish cylinder bureau

Wonderful late 19th century Flemish cylinder bureau with drawer and cupboard space above with further drawers below, circa 1880.
The bureau is opened with a roll top mechanism which is weighted so it is easy to open and close, offering very good working space with the slide out surface, with even more drawer and pigeon hole space.
The top section is very interesting as when the central faux drawer section is opened, you have two locking slides which you can then lock or unlock all of the side drawers which is a simple but great solution to having too many locks and keys.
Below the writing surface you have three full width drawers too.
The whole bureau is delicately carved and it sits very well for a large piece of antique furniture, helped also by the warm oak tones not being typically dark.
It splits into two parts, so moving and handling the bureau is no problem.
Good solid condition and a very unusual piece of antique furniture.
Measuring:
84 1/2 inches or 215 cm maximum height
47 1/2 inches or 120.5 cm maximum width
24 1/2 inches or 62 cm maximum depth
12 1/2 inches or 32 cm top depth
28 1/2 inches or 72.5 cm kneehole height
33 1/2 inches or 85 cm maximum depth with writing surface pulled out
18 1/2 inches of 47 cm internal writing surface depth Based in Uppingham, Rutland…having been in the business for 25 years focusing on mostly French and English decorative antiques and interiors from the 18th to the early 20th century, hopefully a collection you will enjoy browsing and hopefully re home some of my finds!
