Small Walnut Side Cabinet with Writing Desk c.1880
Unusual little late 19th.c. burr walnut side cabinet c.1880. Just 22″ wide. Open the fall front to reveal a little 8″ x 10½” writing desk (height 25″) with a tooled green leather top and a small cupboard with a single shelf. Over a single drawer and a two door cupboard fitted with two shelves retaining the original leather fronts named in gilt for different genres of sheet music. Highly figured burr walnut veneers to the top front and sides with inlaid detail. Original turned and segmented drawer knobs. Shaped plinth also veneered to match. Mahogany groundwork and drawer linings. Some general wear and a little faded on the front. Otherwise very good condition and lovely mellow colour. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
