Set of Six Bistro Dining Chairs by Thonet c.1900

Good set of six small bistro dining chairs by the celebrated bentwood antique furniture manufacturers Thonet c.1900. Rare design featuring carved top rails with scrolling acanthus detail and a pierced hand grip. Over pressed panels with the embossed decoration repeated (unusually) at the rear, and back stretchers joined with a row of four turned spindles. Pressed panel seats (height 18") within a bentwood frame and raised on good turned and tapering front legs joined with a bentwood stretcher. Thonet stamp to the underside of each chair. Very good condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
