Scottish Drumhead Longcase Clock by George Watson
Very handsome mid 19th.c. Scottish long case clock George B. Watson of Airdrie c.1850. Superb 13″ diameter gilded brass face engraved with decorative floral detail, separate date and second dials and the maker’s name. Drumhead case, the hood with solid moulded mahogany bezel, gilt slip and carved papyrus flower detail.
On a flared case with arch top glass panel door revealing the original brass cased weights and pendulum, crisp mouldings, panelled base and neat little bun feet. Original eight day works striking the hours on a bell.
Excellent condition, the case has been cleaned and polished in our workshops. Sold with a 12 month guarantee.
