Rose of Ramsgate Dropdial Wall Clock
An English dropdial fusee wall antique clock. A light walnut case with rounded curved base and original base fixing loops. A brass bezel surround to the 12" re-painted dial signed 'Rose Ramsgate'. An 8-day duration timepiece fusee mechanism.
James Rose of Ramsgate is recorded in Loomes' 'Watchmakers and Clockmakers of The World' book as working from 1866-1874. There is an old repairers label from Ramsgate on the inside of the side door.
