Very handsome Regency period Scottish long case clock c.1820. Simple 12″ diameter brass face with engraved numerals, separate date and second dials and named for clockmaker W.D. Fenwick of Dundee. Drumhead case, the hood with gilded bezel, crossbanded surround and topped with a carved frieze. On a flared case with shaped glass panel door revealing brass cased weights and pendulum. Crisp mouldings, flame mahogany panelled base and neat little turned bun feet. Eight day works striking the hours on a bell. With some later alterations, the date wheel is no longer working. Excellent condition, the case has been cleaned and polished in our workshops. Sold with a 12 month guarantee.
