Here is a fabulous Regency piece of antique furniture.
Typical of the period it delicate fine and wonderful to look at, but at the same time it is very practical for the modern day.

The rising top that has a book support has an ebony line inlay to the beautifully figured mahogany surface.
The top rises on a pair of front brass hinges and then a easel support drops down for you to place the top in various positions.
To each end there are drawers and lyre shaped supports with brass rods running up the middle.
