Rare, Miniature English Fusee, Bracket Clock

A very small and beautiful English clock in a rosewood case and with an optional wall bracket.
The diminutively sized, 8 day duration, 5 pillar, double chain fusee movement, with Anchor Recoil escapement, stop work to both trains and hourly rack striking on a rear-mounted coiled steel gong of superb tone and resonance. Also having shouldered plates and a pendulum locking knob for transit.
Behind a 3 7/8" wide (visible), gilded brass dial with black 'written' Roman hour numerals and an outer minute track. The dial centre is finely engine turned. The finely cut steel hands are blued and the hour hand is 'spade' style.
Contained in a fine, 'Pagoda' topped, rosewood '4-glass' case. The swept top carries a cast brass, polished urn style finial and the body of the top has an inlaid brass line. The front locking and glazed door has a gilded brass 'sight frame' behind the glass panel and the case sides have glazed chamfer top apertures with conforming brass framing. The also locking rear door has a cloth-backed, fretwork sound aperture. The body of the case has a short, plinth to 3 sides with a moulded top and sits upon 4 flat bun feet. The clock also has a wall-mounted bracket which is optional to use and is either original or custom made.
This is a very rare clock because of its small size particularly as it houses a full-blown, double fusee movement which is fabulously made. It can be used as a mantel, table or wall clock.

Condition The movement is fully working and all original but neglected in recent years. It shows signs of historical maintenance but really would benefit from a complete overhaul of which it is awaiting. The dial is very good but shows signs of its age and usage, the engine turning is undamaged. The case is excellent but also shows signs of its age and usage however, the door and locks etc. are fully working and in good condition. The two front feet have locating safety holes in them to prevent slipping if placed on the bracket which is also in excellent condition.
