Rare First Worcester Marrow Shell Sweetmeat Dish


A rare Worcester porcelain press moulded scallop shell shaped dish printed with The Marrow pattern. A lovely deep dish, suited to sweetmeats or nuts. Crescent mark to the base.
Reference: Worcester Blue & White Porcelain, Brandon, French & Sandon, section II.B.24, described as "rare" and only noted to be found on this shell shaped dish.
Provenance: the Robert & Celia Morris Collection.
It measures 13.5cm (5 1/4") wide and deep and 6.7cm (2 58") high.
In excellent condition with no damage, repair or restoration. There is a short firing line tucked under the edge of the scrolled section of the rim. Three factory created nicks to the foot rim. Minimal handling wear.
Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
