This is a delightful and rare tapestry woolwork picture dating from the mid Victorian era, circa 1860. The condition of the piece is quite remarkable with the superbly preserved work being in absolutely splendid condition and retaining a wonderful bold depth of colour throughout the piece. The tapestry is beautifully framed in its original cloth backed frame that is in the finest solid rosewood.
Provenance:
The tapestry was purchased from the sale of the residual contents of Dryderdale Hall in Hamsterly by the previous owner several years ago.
The piece is in super order and measures 56 cms by 56 cms overall, including the frame.
