It is so very rare to find this model for sale.
This is a very luxurious compact with black enamel & a sterling silver marcasite set galleon in low relief.
So much more gorgeous than I thought - the black enamel is very good.
All the marcasite stones are in place. The sterling silver set galleon is sound, exquisitely detailed & beautifully done.
All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The self-opening inner lid still works. The pouch, puff & sifter are good.
The bevelled mirror is excellent. Unusually this base does not have the curled feathers - normally 'Empress' do.
The cardboard box is sturdy & quite good.
This beautiful Stratton 'Empress' IS magnificent.
