Queen Anne Walnut Bureau with a well Interior
Here we have a glorious Queen Anne period bureau faced in lovely figured walnut.
The writing fall drops forward to reveal a stepped interior fitted with small drawers and pigeon holes. In the centre of the interior there is a sliding compartment (known as a well) that opens to reveal storage.Inside the well is a sliding secret compartment that is fitted 3 compartments.
The fall with an inset green baize writing surface.
The bureau is fitted 2 small drawers above 2 long graduated drawers, all with oak linings.
The desk stands on lovely turned walnut bun feet.
This type of bureau always looks good when mixed with other walnut or oak and country pieces.
