A gorgeous 1950s unused Kigu Lucite basket 'Bouquet' powder compact. This delightful Lucite basket shaped compact mirror is from the 'Old 63-Series'. The compact is in excellent condition. Around the lid and base the 'gilt jeweller's finish' is decorated with an ornate scalloped design. The compact has a 'graceful handle', which is functional and sound. The most adorable reverse carved pale pink and pearl river grey Lucite floral display is protected by a Lucite dome. The mirror is very good and it gives a clear and accurate reflection. The original signed puff and sifter are present. The powder well bears the Kigu trademark and the model name 'Bouquet' and 'REG. DES.' All hinges and clasps work perfectly. This vanity will never tarnish or need to be cleaned as it was coated with a layer of enamel during the manufacturing process. An immaculate black drawstring pouch is included with this item. Measures 5.5 cm and weighs 57.2 grams. Free lavishly illustrated history of this piece included.
