A petite sonnerie French carriage antique clock. Quarter striking on two gongs with subsidiary alarm mechanism. An enamel dial with finely shaped blued steel hands and an inner dial mask edging. Signed to the dial by retailers 'Chs. J. Gauppe & Co. Hong Kong. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the quarter hours and hours on a gong. Push button repeating. The original lever escapement. Circa 1885.
