A fine quality early example of a carriage antique clock. A fully engraved case with superb foliage engraving and to the back door. Thick bevelled glass panels with a large top aperture. An enamel dial with delicate Roman numerals and 'moon' blued steel hands. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours and 1/2 hours on a bell with outside striking countwheel. The original helical spring escapement of high quality.

The Perrin family of clockmakers are well noted and worked from 1650. This example by Jean Perrin (1807-circa 1840) dates to 1835-40.
