Circa 1880 and later, a quality pair of burr walnut open bookcases rectangular bookcases, with a polished top, stylish fore-edge and an elegant frieze, each has four adjustment shelves with ribbed fronts, the facings with a pair of burr walnut pilasters, and well-figured walnut gables, beneath the bottom shelf there is a moulding, and the bookcases rest on large enclosed walnut plinths.
