Fine pair of mid 18th century small oval pastel portraits in original gilt frames, un-signed but definitely by the famous portrait painted of the time HUGH DOUGLAS HAMILTON. Nearly all of his work was un-signed but these portraits are listed as ones he did.

The portraits are of BAKER JOHN LITTLEHALES (1732 - 1785) and hid wife MARIA BENDAL MARTYN whom he married on 25th October 1759.

The labels to the back of the pictures give quite a bit of history about both families.

Apart from a couple of small nicks to the frames these are in very good order.
