DOROTHY KING, RBA A Model reclining, signed, pastel, 19½ x 15½in.

Provenance: The artist’s studio, thence a recent vendor.
The artist studied at the Hornsey School of Art where she was taught by Randolph Schwabe.

Dorothy King paintings were exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Society of Women Artists and the Glasgow Institute of Fine Art. The Mall Galleries held a memorial show in 1992.

Born in London, Dorothy attended The Hornsey and the Slade Schools of Art where she studied under Randolph Schwabe. After many years working for the Royal Society of British Artists(RBA) she retired in 1974 to concentrate on painting,

Dorothy King exhibited at the Royal Academy exhibitions in 1937, 1942, 1943, 1945, 1946, 1948, 1949, 1957 & 1960.
