Mid Victorian Mahogany Dining Table & Leaf Holder

Circa 1860, mid Victorian mahogany dining table, plus a leaf holder and 3 original leaves. The mahogany table is oval in shape with a solid top with a simple moulded edge. There is an apron below the top which has been veneered and has a turned beading. The table stands on four bulbous legs which are turned at the top and have a large fluted section, a large tulip top, and tapers down to finish on large brass cup castors with brown porcelain wheels. The table has an additional three original leaves with the same quality mahogany.
Also included with this table is a mahogany whatnot/leaf holder. The upright leaf holder has a three quarter open fretwork gallery and three further stepped shelves below supported by open carved mahogany brackets. The bottom shelf has a wonderful section of mahogany and a moulded edge similar to that of the dining table. There is a door on each end and a compartment to hold leaves in the upright position. Below the flat surface is a single door with a flamed mahogany panel, moulding and turned arches. This opens to reveal a cupboard with a single adjustable shelf inside. Below this the whatnot stands on a mahogany enclosed plinth.
Both pieces have excellent colour and condition. The table has been completely re-polished by hand using traditional methods.
Most items include delivery anywhere in the UK mainland.
