Longcase clock by T. Dodson of Holbeck

A very attractive antique clock by Thomas Dodson who was working in and around Leeds during the late 18th/early 19th centry. This example is signed at Holbeck but other examples have been noted signed at beeston and Leeds .
The Oak case has much mahogany decoration and is very typical of other Leeds antique clocks . With swaneck pediment to the hood , long trunk and pannelled base standing on ogee feet . The inset cross banding to the hood door is a very typical feature to Leeds work .
The dial is the work of Birmingham dial maker James Wilson and is very attractive and in very good condition . The good quality 8 day movement is in very good working order .
