Liverpool Porcelain Pennington Sauce Boat
Nice Liverpool sauce boat attributed to John & Jane Pennington, c.1770-1790. Decorated in the Large Exotic Bird pattern on one side, and a house, fence and garden on the other, with barley ear border set against a moulded pattern of vertical panelling with floral and scroll design. These patterns are known combined on John Pennington pieces and the shape is also documented as such, see figure 336 of Liverpool Porcelain by Bernard Watney for a very similar example.
It measures 16.8cm (6 5/8") long, 9.5cm (3 3/4") wide and 12cm (4 3/4") high. Condition is good overall but it has a hairline running partway from the rim around under the spout which measures approx. 5.5cm long. There is a firing line inside the footrim also. No other damage or restoration. Surface wear is very light. The printed border inside has run a bit in places but the outer printing is nice and clear. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque. If you prefer to pay by Stripe please go to our website where we offer that option and additionally options to "Pay in 30 days" and to pay in 3 instalments, all securely supported.
Price includes UK shipping. Worldwide shipping is also available, please ask for a cost.
