Late Victorian Dinner Gong Victorian dinner gong oak %%alt5%%
Circa 1890, late Victorian dinner gong on a carved oak stand. The top has an arched and chamfered section above a cross plate with open fretwork and quarter brackets with similar fretwork both on the top and bottom. In the centre is the large gong which is brass but has been chromed, perhaps in the 1930s. Beneath this is a trestle style foot with solid quarter brackets. All the uprights are solid oak with chamfered corners. There is a small chrome hook on the side for a beater which will be supplied. Very stylish and sturdy.
