Large Impressive 1930s Art Deco Red Bakelite Mantle Clock
This is the daddy of true 1930s Art Deco clocks. Made in France by the very collectable JAZ company, this clock screams everything about the Deco era we all love and admire, streamline, Industrial and modernist. The casing is a red mottled color, gleaming and shiny as the day it was first produced 90 odd years ago. The centre dial has a superb carved detailing with a mustard yellow crackle effect colored highlighting behind chrome numerals. The hands, numerals and linear lines to the casing are chrome and in good vintage condition. Wind up mechanism means you don't have to worry about balancing and timing pendulums. This is a good sized clock and would make a real focal point to a mantel piece or maybe sideboard or desk. These clocks are very desirable and retain their value well and don't come onto the market very often, an extremely rare clock even in the normal red/brown combination. This clock comes to you in great condition with no damage. Even the movement looks clean as a pin, the original key isn't with the clock so we've added a replacement. A time piece a real Art Deco connoisseur will love and admire. We've had this clock fully serviced so comes to you in excellent working condition and keeping very good time.
