Large French 19th century bookcase
Fabulous and rather unusual large French 19th century two door fully adjustable bookcase in well figured mahogany and in the Louis Philippe style, circa 1860.
Book matched veneers to the door panels and sides, also the doors retaining their original and very slightly mottled glass.
The interior is fully lined in oak with a panelled back and the four original inlaid shelves are fully adjustable too…so offers tremendous storage and display, but the bottom third can be hidden out of sight.
This is a large piece of antique furniture, but doesn’t feel overbearing not being too deep. The bookcase fully dismantles for transport etc.
Wonderful piece of antique furniture and a rare find.

90 1/2 inches or 230 cm high
67 inches or 170 cm width at the cornice
62 1/2 inches or 159 cm body width
64 1/4 inches or 163 cm width at the plinth
16 inches or 40.5 cm body depth
18 1/2 inches or 47 cm cornice depth
14 inches or 35.5 cm internal shelf depth Based in Uppingham, Rutland…having been in the business for 25 years focusing on mostly French and English decorative antiques and interiors from the 18th to the early 20th century, hopefully a collection you will enjoy browsing and hopefully re home some of my finds!
